Josie and the Pussycats: Metro Cinema presents its first-ever craft-friendly screening on Sunday, so while they show this Vancouver-filmed 2001 cult classic starring Rachel Leigh Cook, Tara Reid and Rosario Dawson, the audience can work on projects and hang out with fellow crafters.
The lights will be up, and even if you don’t have your own craft project, lobby vendors including Naked & Frayed, Nest Embirdery and The Fibre Nook will be selling various supplies and kits.
While you’re at it, check out Neil McClelland‘s new surrealistic, memory-riffing painting show called Mountain Road. He’s got a reception at 2 p.m. Saturday at Metro if you want to chat with the Quebec-born artist in person.

Jerry Bludd and Grim Stone: AltYEG magazine presents this live recording show at Felice, down the block from that big marigold sculpture.
Featuring a spooky, dark-folk theme, Jerry Bludd tells stories of the human condition, with Grim Stone weaving tales of haunted souls with a folk-blues tool kit. There’ll be themed drinks in this interesting format where you’ll get a chance to know the performers in the accompanying interviews.
Plus, say hi to Felix, the behemoth fiddle leaf fig — one of the city’s mightiest plants!
