Edmonton Blues Festival: Happy bluesday!
The Graham Guest Band opens Day 2 at the celebratory 25th annual Blues Fest at 1:40 p.m. Saturday, followed by the grooves of Paul Pigat and Cousin Harley, the singer-trumpet combo of Braithwaite and Whitely, upbeat blues combo The Cash Box Kings and guitar hotshot Selwyn Birchwood up at 7 p.m.
Riding the 100th birthday celebration of the king of zydeco Clifton Chenier, supergroup Bayou Boogie closes Saturday night.
On Sunday, absolute powerhouse Matt Andersen & the Big Bottle of Joy closes the fest, with Chantelle Marie, Secondhand Dreamcar, Blue Moon Marquee, D.K. Harrell and the Blackburn Brothers filling up the rest of EBF’s final-day roster.

Fruit Loop Backyard Party: LGBTQIA2S+ advocacy group Fruit Loop has a simple reason to party: “It’s summer in the city, and we are hosting a backyard party to celebrate.”
In addition to soulful singer-songwriter Emmet Michael, drag talents Plastika, Celine Dejion, Circules and others will be shining — plus an undoubtedly lively playlist of dance music in this comfy cage venue.
As these events are always about community, funds raised from this event will support the Jasper recovery initiative — so let loose for a very good cause!

Edmonton Noisefest: Some 20 performers — including Biographical Error, Scant Intone, Chad Munson and award-winning multimedia artist Clinker — are set to unleash their curated vibrations at this fest’s sixth annual iteration.
As well as a load of locals, YMGER and Psychedelic Attack from Vancouver, Montreal’s Dominic Jasmin and Porous Treatment from Calgary will fill the room with sounds riding the line between music and performance/conceptual art.
