All Is Bright: First the snow, now the party!
Ice carving, a bevvy garden, immersive light installations, music by The Steadies, and even an early appearance of Santa are rolled up in this dense snowball of family fun on 124 Street Saturday.
The light-up ceremony is at 5:20 p.m., and roaming performers will entertain the block, with multiple businesses offering food and drink features like hot chocolate and apple cider to enjoy around the open fires.
Of special note is Edmonton Mural Festival and the awesome Linda Hoang’s Mural Tour 2024 starting at the 10507 124 St. Cupcake Mural, which includes food and drink for $49.26 at 124street.ca.

Pipe Dreams and Premieres: Edmonton Winds presents its first concert of the season Sunday with seriously world-renowned flautist Jim Walker — Decca Star Wars, The River, Schindler’s List, to name a few — breathing life into a new arrangement of Edmonton composer Allan Gilliland’s Pipe Dreams.
New works by Joe Semple, Sean Bumstead, and Schubert Hernando will also be presented for the first time — so it’s a big night all around.

Advent & Christmas Concert: The First Presbyterian Senior Choir kicks the festive season off early with a concert of uplifting music, including Johann Kuhnau’s cantata Unto Us a Child is Born and a selection of audience singalong carols.
Marnie Giesbrecht and Joachim Segger direct the choir, with special guest violinists Yue Deng and Frank Ho.
