A look at Friday’s Edmonton weather from Environment Canada.
It’s currently -12.9 C at the Edmonton Blatchford weather station with 5 km/h winds from the southwest and a wind chill of -16.
In case you were wondering if there would be a white Christmas…I think we have our answer now.
A snowfall warning is in effect for the city of Edmonton and surrounding areas with forecasters calling for “a long period of snowfall” bringing 15-25 cm of snow between now and Saturday evening. We can expect to see slight flurries throughout the day, but the snowfall is expected to really ramp up around 8 p.m. tonight and will intensify Saturday morning. Snow will be heavy at times Saturday before finally tapering off later Saturday evening.

“Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow,” the warning reads. “Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow.”
I suppose it’s high time I invested in a snow blower, eh?
